The Roscrea Heritage Society presents an evening with Éanna Ni Lamhna: Botanist, Ecologist, well known as a broadcaster on ‘Mooney goes Wild’, and President of the Tree Council of Ireland in Damer House Complex this Wednesday (February 5th) at 8pm. Roscrea Ramblers

It was great to get a welcome break in the weather on Sunday last with two walks taking place. The short walkers headed to Glenafelly in the Sliabh Blooms on a two hour walk led by Joe Coughlan while the long walkers went to Keepers Hill and the Silvermines on a 4 ½ hour walk led by Mick Fogarty where there was snow on Keepers, with fantastic views of the countryside. Next Sunday Ray McCarthy leads an intermediate walk to Carey’s Castle outside Clonmel – short walkers are encouraged to go on this fantastic walk. Blood Clinic

The Blood Clinic is coming to the Racket Hall next Monday (Feb. 10th) and Tuesday (Feb. 11th) from 4.30pm to 8pm, both days. Please bring a friend!

Monastic Experience Weekend

Sense the rhythm of monastic daily prayer life at Mount St. Joseph Abbey, Roscrea on the weekend commencing, Friday the 21st of February. This weekend is for men aged between 20 and 40 who may be discerning a monastic vocation. Lions Club

Roscrea Lions Club are hosting Valuation Sunday on February 9th 2014 at Racket Hall Hotel. Bring your treasures to experts from Sheppard’s Antiques who will appraise and value them. One item costs €5 and three items €10. All proceeds will support Lions Club local projects. Doors open at 2pm -5pm.
