Mass of Remembrance -

Mass of Remembrance -

Tonight, Wednesday, November 21st at 7.30pm in the Abbey a special Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated for all deceased parishioners and especially those who have died during 2012. After Mass refreshments will be served in the Abbey Restaurant.

Sympathy - Sympathy is extended to Nora Bourke, The Green, on the recent unexpected death of her brother Martin, Gurrane, Charleville, Co Cork and formerly of Garrenmore, Clonoulty.

Death of Pat O’Dwyer - The unexpected death of Pat O’Dwyer, Galbertstown Lr. occurred at his residence during the past week. His demise caused much regret in the parish. Almost ten years ago having disposed of his farm in Gurth, Hollyford and retiring from the land he came to Holycross with his wife Mary and family and took up residence in their new home. Pat was of a quiet unassuming disposition, kind and gentle, a man who was interested in Nature, loved to stroll through the woodlands in Dundrum and through the fields with his dog. He had an interest in the political life of the Country keeping up to date with the happenings by reading the daily paper and following the television and in discussion with friends. Peace to his kindly soul.

To his wife Mary, sons Tom and John, daughters Olivia and Maura we tender our sympathy. His remains were brought to St Joseph’s Church, Hollyford on Thursday morning for Requiem Mass. After Mass he was interred in the adjoining cemetery. The large and representative attendance at the Mass and funeral was evident of Pat’s popularity and that of his family.
