Deaths - The death occurred on Saturday, 4th February of Edward (Ned) Corbett, Urard.
Removal took place from Doyle’s Funeral Home, Urlingford to the Sacred Heart Church, Gortnahoe on Monday evening. On Tuesday Requiem Mass was celebrated followed by burial in Good Shepherd Cemetery. Ned is deeply mourned by his sons, Richie, Pat, John and Jerry, daughters, Peg and Joan, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends, May he rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the O’Donohue family, Mellison on the sudden death of Niall last week. Burial took place in Glengoole Cemetery on Saturday.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Sarah Morris, Poynestown on the recent death of her mother, Mrs. Ryan, Borrisoleigh and Upperchurch. May they rest in peace.
Diocesan changes - As we come to the stage of the completion of the diocesan changes as they affect our parish we say a very sincere thanks to Fr.Joe for his final conducting of the monthly family Mass. What a wonderful level of inspiration and motivation he has given to our parishioners, of all ages. May he carry this to his new parish of Upperchurch-Drombane. We look forward and welcome Fr.Irwan when he becomes our new Parish Priest at the end of this week. A long and rewarding working retirement to Fr. O’Rourke in his role as Assistant Pastor in his new home.

Gortnahoe Schools Parents Association - Wish to advise that we have postponed our planned Cake Sale and Coffee Morning to Sunday Morning, February 19th next after Mass. We look forward to your support on that day.
Gortnahoe Youth F.C. - Training continues every Saturday Morning at 11 a.m. in Gortnahoe Community field for boys aged 7-10 and girls aged 7-16. Boys and Girls aged 4,5 and 6 also train at 11 a.m. on Saturdays in Gortnahoe Community Centre for the next couple of weeks. New members welcome.
Drama - Glengoole-Gortnahoe Drama group will produce the award winning play “The Lonesome West”, by Martin MacDonagh in Glengoole Hall on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of February at 8 p.m. This play may not be suitable for children.
A Six Week Maths Programme - Will take place in Gortnahoe Hall, starting on February 20th, aimed at Leaving Cert Junior Cert students will run each night for Junior Students from 7.30 to 8.15 p.m. and for Leaving Cert students from 8.15 to 9.00 p.m., tuition by qualified teachers.
