ONE of the driving forces behind attempts to have Nenagh’s Scouts Hall revamped has urged anybody interested in seeing it redeveloped to come aong to a public meeting on the landmark building on Monday, March 7.

Cllr Hughie McGrath, who first raised the possibility of having the building reopened as a community venue during his term of Mayor of Nenagh, said that he was hoping there would be a “full and frank” discussion at the meeting to see what usages there would be for the facility.

“We are not going to pre-empt the meeting, but we would like to get some ideas in any shape or form about using it. If that happens, if people want to do something about it, then I have no problem getting involved,” he said.

The meeting on the future of the Scouts Hall will be held in Nenagh Town Hall on Monday, March 7, at 8.30pm.
