Friends of Ballingarry GAA Golf Classic - Our 16th Annual Golf Classic takes place in Callan Golf Club on Fri/Sat 11th to 12th May. Wedding Bells - Congrats to Mary Brennan, Foyle, on her marriage to Gary Sweeney, Loughmore, on Friday last, 4th May at the Church of the Assumption, Ballingarry. The Celebrant was Fr. Derry Quirke. The Old School, The Commons - The Old School are delighted to announce their official opening on Saturday, June 30th. We are planning a weekend of celebrations which includes a Vintage Car & Tractor run on Sunday, July 1st followed by an evening of music to honour our great Bodhran Player, Roundy Lawlor. Ballingarry Tidy Town’s - For further information you can log onto Ballingarry Tidy Towns on facebook. There is still a lot of work to be done, so all help will be greatly appreciated. If anybody requires any assistance, please do not hesitate to let the Tidy Towns Committee know as we are all aiming to achieve the same goal. We would like to thank all those who have volunteered their time over the past weeks. Improvements are evident and being commented on. Once again a sincere thank you to each and everyone who helped in any way to make our Tractor / Vintage Car Run the major success that it was. At the end of May we are hoping to organise a General Parish-wide weekend Clean-up where the residents of each road will be expected to play their part. More on that next week.

Enrolments - The Commons Community Playschool are now taking enrolments for September 2012 catering for children aged 2yrs 6mths to 5 years ECCE, CETS and reduced rates for families receiving social welfare payments. Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser - On Sunday last, May 6th there was a stop off at the G.A.A. field for The 3 Ballingarry motor bike run in aid of Cystic Fibrosis. A large crowd turned up to support the event and to view the many bikes on show. There was a great response from the locals to the fundraising which took place in the carpark.
Folk Choir - Folk group meets every Monday night in the sacristy meeting room at 8.30 p.m. All members are asked to attend. New members welcome.
