Pieta House Opens
The new Pieta House facility in Roscrea was officially opened by the organisation’s founder and Chief Executive, Joan Freeman last week. The new facility located on The Glebe Road in Roscrea, is a centre for the prevention of suicide and self-harm and is part of the nationwide network of Pieta House outreach centres. The centre will open five days a week and people can always just ring and make an appointment.
Contrary to the impression that might have been given in last week’s report, Pieta House isn’t a drop-in centre and you must make an appointment beforehand. A doctor’s referral or a psychiatric report is not required and the service is completely free of charge.
