Dancing - Social dancing in Urlingford will take place in Urlingford on Tuesday, June 4. Music by Danny Webster. Supper served. You heard the rest, Danny the best, enjoy a good night.

First Communion - Don’t forget to put Sunday, 2nd June into your diaries. It is the feast of Corpus Christi and all the children are invited to St Patrick’s Church in Graine for the final Mass at 10am for our programme and to a celebration afterwards in the new Hall in Graine.

Mill Cemetery Collection - A church gate collection will be taken up before the Masses on Saturday and Sunday May 25 and 26. Please give as generous as you can so as to help to keep the cemetery looking nice in respect for all our loved ones gone before us.

Tidy Towns - Judging of this year’s competition begins in two weeks time. Last year most areas got improved marks with a few exceptions. Main Street did not impress the judges much litter and many cigarette ends and very few flowers on residential and business houses. We hope they will see a cleaner and brighter Main Street in two weeks time. Your interest and help would be appreciated.

Conahy Heritage Society - Anthony Kearns will perform, along with his usual repertoire, some Thomas Moore melodies such as the ‘Minstrel Boy’, ‘Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms’ and of course ‘The Last Rose of Summer’, which was composed in Jenkinstown and first published in 1813. The event will take place on Saturday June 22. Some local talent will be showcased on the evening also. The concert will be in the original walled garden area, within Jenkinstown Woods. Garden Fete - Presentation Secondary School, Thurles, Garden Fete on Sunday, May 26 from 2pm to 5pm. Family fun day, wheel of fortune, home baking, bouncy castles, books/cds, soccer tournament etc. We welcome donations to the school office by Friday, May 24. Thank you for your support.

Urlingford/Graine Defibrillator Group - Meeting once a month in the Urlingford Community Childcare Centre. We would like to get as many volunteers as possible so please come along and bring a friend – together we could save a life.

Urlingford Library - Urlingford Library is giving you the chance to see your creative talents on public display. Fantastic crochet project starting in June which is community based. Can’t crochet, no problem. There are classes available to help. Contact Anna at Urlingford Library at 056 7794182

Graine I.C.A. - Proposed Summer Trip to Belfast will take place on July 6 and 7. The trip will include: A sightseeing tour of Belfast City and Environs, a visit to the Titanic Exhibition at the Belfast Museum, a visit to a Garden Centre, shopping arcades and famous buildings. The Gathering - As part of The Gathering the parish of Graine and Urlingford are organizing a weekend of activities in August, full details to be finalised. One of these is to have an exhibition of photos in both Graine and Urlingford, which reflects the history of the Parish, and it’s people. We are looking for photos, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, photos of anyone who served in any of the wars or in the army. Any photos of Gardai, Priests or Doctors etc. If you do not want these photos to leave your home we can arrange for someone to call and copy them in your home.
