Una Healy tipped as favourite to host RTE's Dancing with the Stars

Una Healy has been tipped as a possible contender to present Dancing with the Stars

Producers of RTE's Dancing with the Stars are reportedly lining up Thurles singer songwriter Una Healy as a possible contender to take over presenting duties following the departure of former host Amanda Byram this week.

The series, which is due back on the air early next year, has proved a ratings hit among audiences and producers of the show are now looking for a big name star to join co-presenter Nicky Byrne for the live shows.

Former host Amanda Byram announced her decision to leave the show earlier this week citing "personal and professional commitments in London and LA."

Taking to social media, the presenter said: "It's with a heavy heart I share the news that due to personal and professional commitments both in London and LA, I won’t be joining the team for season 3 of DWTS Ireland. Walking away from such a successful and enjoyable show has been a difficult decision and I wish everyone the same success and enjoyment this year... keeeeeep dancing"

Since then a host of famous faces have been suggested as possible contenders to front the show including Vogue Williams and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Deirdre O'Kane.

Healy, who is now based in Ireland, has also emerged as a possible front runner with bookies tipping the former Saturdays singer as an odds on favourite.

Healy previously appeared as a judge on The Voice of Ireland for two seasons.
