Late Mary Greed
The death occurred on November 5th of Mary Greed, Lacey Avenue, Templemore.
Mary died in the Villa Maria Nursing Home Roscrea following a short illness surrounded by her loving family.
In her 91st year, Mary was born on the 28th October 1936 and was the first born of twelve children in the family. She grew up on New Row and later moved to Lacey Avenue where she spent her remaining years.
She married Paddy (Ransome) Greed in 1955. They had six in family, Paddy unfortunately passed away in 1972 leaving Mary a young widow and mother.
Mary was an avid reader of the Tipperary Star and the daily paper and loved to keep up with local events. From a young age she used to cycle the countryside visiting her many friends. Her door was always open for those who wanted to drop in for a cuppa and a chat.
She engaged in regular games of Bingo and the occasional trip away with Canon Noonan Day Care Centre. She was particularly close to her sisters Hannah and Nellie (the golden girls) and often got up to mischief with them.
In later years Mary attended the Day Care Centre on a daily basis and took great pride in her style. She enjoyed every meal that was served up to her and always said it was great value. She made many friends there and always had a story to tell after her day there.
Sincere sympathy is extended to her family, relatives and many friends.
Mary was waked at home in the Avenue and reposed at Grey’s Funeral Home where friends and family paid their respects. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church and she was interred with her husband and son in Templemore Graveyard.
May she Rest in Peace.
