Football Round-Up: Senior semi-final draw pits Moyle Rovers and Commercials against one another

The draw has been made for the semi-finals of the Tipperary Water County Senior Football Championship. And, South rivals Moyle Rovers and Clonmel Commercials (the defending champions) will pit their wits against one another while on the opposite side of the draw Loughmore-Castleiney face Ardfinnan. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place on the week-ending Sunday, October 14th.

Last week Loughmore-Castleiney beat Arravale Rovers (1-12 to 0-8) while Moyle Rovers proved too strong for Killenaule (3-13 to 1-9). The remaining last eight clashes took place on Sunday - Ardfinnan saw off the challenge of Ballyporeen in Cahir (0-22 to 0-9) while Clonmel Commercials enjoyed a thirteen-point win over Kilsheelan-Kilcash (0-17 to 0-4).

COUNTY MINOR A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Thanks to a two-point win over Cahir (3-9 to 1-13) at New Inn on Saturday JK Bracken’s claimed the Tipperary Water County Minor A Football Championship title for the first time since 1974 (1973 championship). In the semi-finals JK Bracken's accounted for Inane Rovers (2-10 to 1-8) while Cahir saw off the challenge of Galtee-Golden (2-12 to 1-12).

COUNTY MINOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS

The Tipperary Water County Minor B Football Championship semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 6th - Knockavilla Kickhams v Mullinahone in Ned Hall Park (2.30pm) and Ballina v Drom & Inch in Templederry (4.30pm).

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER-FINALS

Grangemockler-Ballyneale enjoyed a walkover win over Clonoulty-Rossmore last weekend while Borrisokane progressed to the semi-finals thanks to a 2-9 to 0-12 victory over Clonmel Commercials.

Following a three-way play-off in group two the Loughmore-Castleiney men missed out while Moyne-Templetuohy and Moyle Rovers progressed.

In the quarter-finals on Saturday Golden-Kilfeacle beat Moyle Rovers (1-11 to 2-7) while the last of the quarter-finals is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 6th when Rockwell Rovers face Moyne-Templetuohy in Holycross (2.30pm).

The semi-final draw has also been made for the intermediate football championship - on the week-ending Sunday, October 7th Borrisokane will face Golden-Kilfeacle while on the week-ending Sunday, October 14th Grangemockler-Ballyneale will take on the winners of the match between Moyne-Templetuohy and Rockwell Rovers.
