Seamus O'Riain Cup sees Templederry into the semi-final

Two second half goals in two minutes turns the tide in Templederry's direction

Templederry 2-14

Holycross Ballycahill 0-15

Two goals in as many minutes midway through the second half helped Templederry to a deserved victory over Holycross Ballycahill in the Seamus O'Riain Cup senior hurling quarter final at Kilcommon this afternoon.

Having played with the aid of a very strong breeze, Holycross Ballycahill held a 0-8 to 0-5 interval advantage. And, it was the view of most spectators at the game that three points would not be enough of a lead considering the direct blow which would they face in the second half - it wasn't.

Templederry trailed by  just one a point when sub Matthew Hogan bagged their first goal in the 15th minute and then Eanna Murray snatched a second in the 16th to give them a clear two goal cushion - Padraig O'Leary grabbing a point in between the green flags.

Holycross Ballycahill battled gamely until the end with Darragh  Woods sending over a flurry of pointed frees, but Templederry had done enough, and now march on to the semi-finals.
