Another three-team play-off required in Tipperary - this time in the intermediate football championship

While the eyes of the Tipperary GAA fans have been trained on the dramatic three-team play-off between Thurles Sarsfields, Upperchurch-Drombane and Drom & Inch in the Tipperary Water County Senior Hurling Championship it has now emerged that another three-team play-off is required in the Premier County - this time in the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Football Championship.

Loughmore-Castleiney beat Moycarkey-Borris 1-14 to 0-4 on Tuesday night, September 11th meaning that Loughmore-Castleiney, Moyle Rovers and Moyne-Templetuohy all finished level on four points in the group. Unfortunately, scoring difference cannot be employed to determine the final group placings since Moycarkey-Borris presented Moyle Rovers with a walkover earlier in the competition.

So, a three-way play-off is required to settle group two and will feature a contest between Moyle Rovers, Moyne-Templetuohy and Loughmore-Castleiney during the coming weeks with the top two sides progressing to the quarter-finals.

On Saturday Moyle Rovers beat Moyne-Templetuohy by eight points (4-9 to 1-10). Moyle Rovers completed the group stage on four points alongside Moyne-Templetuohy and Loughmore-Castleiney. Moycarkey-Borris finished bottom of the group on zero.
