Thurles Sarsfields’ clash with Carrick postponed while match venues have also changed

Pádraic Maher pictured collecting the Dan Breen Cup from County Board chairman Michael Bourke following the 2017 county senior hurling final.

Séamus Quinn’s Thurles Sarsfields were expected to launch their county senior hurling championship campaign on Saturday evening, but, unfortunately, the Blues’ contest with Carrick Swans in Littleton has been postponed - it is understood that the 2017 South Tipperary senior hurling champions cannot field a team and fulfill the fixture.

The Competitions Control Committee will deliberate on the issue next week.

Meanwhile the Tipperary Water County Senior Hurling Championship clash between Mullinahone and Clonoulty-Rossmore will now take place in Bansha on Sunday, April 15th (2pm) while the meeting of Éire Óg Annacarty and Killenaule will take place at Seán Treacy Park on Sunday, April 15th (3.30pm).

Meanwhile the Séamus Ó Riain Cup game between South rivals St Mary’s Clonmel and Ballingarry will take place at Leahy Park, Cashel on Sunday, April 15th at 6pm.

There is another venue change in the Tipperary Water County Intermediate Hurling Championship - Kilsheelan-Kilcash will now face Ballybacon-Grange at Golden on Saturday, April 14th (4.30pm).

Please see below for a complete list of the updated fixtures.
