Clean Ireland Recycling County Senior Football Championship Final
History was made in Semple Stadium last Sunday when the mighty men from Loughmore –Castleiney defeated Aherlow Gaels by 3-10 to 0-9 in the county senior football championship final thereby completing the double in hurling and football in the same year the first club ever to do so in the county. One would never have thought that Loughmore had been playing so many matches of late such was their performance and fitness levels last Sunday. They were magnificent throughout the field and were worthy winners over Aherlow Gaels. Their display in winning this historic double deserves huge praise and we congratulate all the players and management team who brought such success and honour to the parishes of Loughmore & Castleiney and to the Mid Division.
Clean Ireland Recycling County Minor A Football Championship Final
It was a busy and important weekend for Drom & Inch last weekend as they attempted to win the county minor A and the junior A football titles. The club which has gone from strength to strength over the last few years in football were in action in Boherlahan last Sunday in the county minor A football final when they played Clonmel Commercials and were seeking their first ever title at this grade. Drom despite putting up a great performance had to concede defeat to Clonmel Commercials with the final score Clonmel Commercial 1-12 Drom 1-5. Though defeated Drom can be very proud of these young players who have given so much to the club in their quest for success.
Clean Ireland Recycling County Junior A Football Championship Final
The Clean Ireland Recycling Junior A football championship final between Drom & Inch and Shannon Rovers was played at Dolla last Saturday. Drom were seeking their second title having previously won in 1975 and were hoping to avenge for last year’s defeat to Borrisokane when they were defeated by one point made no mistake this time and in a tremendous performance they won the title by 5-10 to 0-5 for Shannon Rovers. Well done and congratulations to all involved.
Clean Ireland Recycling County Junior A Hurling Championship Final
Moycarkey Borris and Knockavila Donaskeigh Kickhams met in the county Junior A hurling final in Cashel last Saturday in stormy conditions for hurling.
Moycarkey who were beaten by Kilsheelan in last year’s decider made no mistake this time and in a very exciting and high scoring game they came out on top by 2-15 to 2-13.
Well done and congratulations to Moycarkey on a fine win in what has been a very promising year overall for the club.
Mid Tipperary Junior B Football Semi-Final
The only game in the Mid Division last weekend was the Junior B football semi-final between Moyne Templetuohy and Upperchurch Drombane and in a big win for Moyne-Templetuohy they qualified for the final on a scoreline of 0-17 to 2-1.
Mid Board AGM
The AGM of the Mid Board will take place on Friday night December 6th. This year’s AGM will be held in Killea and hosted by the local club. Our thanks to Killea GAA club.
Congrats to Noel
We congratulate Noel McGrath Loughmore- Castleiney on been appointed Vice Captain of the Tipperary senior hurling team. . Noel who has been in outstanding form for his club all year and won’’ Man of the Match ‘’ award for his display against Nenagh in this year’s county senior hurling final has shown tremendous leadership for the club and is most deserving to be appointed Vice Captain. We wish Noel and Tipperary’s new captain Brendan Maher and the team the very best for 2014.
Tipperary U21 Hurling Management Team 2014
Best of luck to the new Tipperary U21 management team for the coming year. Congratulations to Noel Morris Loughmore-Cstleiney on his selection. Noel served two years as a county minor hurling selector and was part of the management team that brought All Ireland success to the county last year.
