Drom & Inch 2-22 Clonoulty-Rossmore 0-13
County champions Drom-Inch sent out a chilling warning as to their championship credentials when they handed out a severe hiding to west standard bearers Clonoulty Rossmore in the county senior hurling quarter final in Semple Stadium on Saturday evening last.
A performance of speed and accuracy – 2-19 from play in the hour – blasted last years county finalists and resulted in them being unable to get any kind of flow in the game at any period. In fact, Drom-Inch dominated from gun to tape and showed real class as they racked up the scores. Ten players raised flags in the game for them and the fact that the scores came from a variety of sources demonstrates the potency of the side – they used the ball very intelligently and always seemed to find a player over to punish any slackness in the oppositions play – and there was plenty.
