Margaret Hayes had 15 walkers on her Sunday hike of Keeper Hill.
Meeting in Newport, they made their ascent via the mass rock, taking in the waterfall, to summit on the mist enshrouded Keeper, prompting strong intimations of Hallowe’en for the group! Glimpses were had at intervals of the peaks to the south. They covered 20km in some 4hrs, and were well pleased with their northern adventure. The A walkers were also out around Cappawhite and Redhill with Liz Breen. This was a short A walk of under 4hrs which is encouraging for those who might like the challenge of shorter more vigorous walks. Liz is also a keen baker and the group enjoyed some delicious cake on their hike! Next week’s walks: The B walk will be led by David Stapleton, meeting in Kilsheelan Village at 10am for a loop of Coumshingaun lake. Mo will lead the C walkers. Meet 11am in Cahir Castle car park. A navigation course is coming up on Nov 3rd. Please book your place now with Tom 0863954924.
