The club fielded two walks on Sunday, in generally benign weather conditions. Anthony O’Brien led the B group on a 10km trek around Bane Hill in Cahir.
Meeting at the Texaco garage, they followed the forest tracks through Cahir woods, to circumnavigate the Bane in an anticlockwise direction, returning to their starting point in three and a half hours.
It was a hearty outing with bouts of song along the way, a local dog for company and plenty of local lore and legend from the Cahir gang. Apart from some fog and mist on high ground, conditions were dry and clear throughout, making for a very agreeable start to winter clock time. Thank you Anthony.
