Captains’ Drive-In was watched by a big turnout of members, Johnny & Sinead drove off in great style, followed by Vice-Captains, Michael & Nora. All then played in a team of 4 competition with a shot-gun start. Unfortunately the rain that was forecast came later on causing some teams to retire early to the bar! Fortunately this did not stop the winners – M. O’Connor, B. O’Connor, T. O’Connor and T. Mason bringing in a great score of 98 points. However the players soon warmed up with a glass of hot mulled wine, a beautiful buffet, served up by our caterer Danny Parker, and music by Nivard.
President Pat Sheedy introduced our two Captains and wished them both a very successful year. Both Captains responded by saying that they would do their best for the Club during their year in office. They will be great Captains and Ambassadors for our Club.
