Sympathy

Sympathy

The unexpected death took place in South Tipperary Hospital last week of Nora O’Sullivan nee Morrissey of Killaghy. Nora was in her late 60’s when she passed away. She had been unwell for quite some time, but her death was still unexpected. Nora’s remains reposed at the family home and then at Brett’s Funeral Home in the village before being removed to St. Michael’s Church. Her funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr. McGrath who spoke of Nora as a flambouyant lady with her own sense of fashion. Nora and her husband Ray were the parents of 7 children, a daughter Suzanne and sons Robert, Ramie, Michael, David, John and Ivan. Ramie passed away following an accident in April 2003. This event had a huge effect on Nora and family. At the end of Nora’s funeral Mass her son Michael gave a wonderful family view of his mother. Nora was interred in Killaghy Cemetery just down the road from the Sullivan home with her son Ramie. After her burial her son John played 2 pieces on the banjo “Old Slievenamon” a slow air and “The Parting Glass” in memory of Nora. We extend our deepest sympathy to husband Ray, daughter Suzanne and sons Robert, Michael, David, John and Ivan and to the rest of the extended family. Any who knew Nora will certainly miss her and we are confident that we shall not see her like again.
