Death of Michael O'Dwyer, Castletown

The death occurred on Sunday, 20th November of Michael O’Dwyer, Castletown, Carrick-on-Suir and late of Dualla. He was only son of Philip and Mary O’Dwyer, Garraun and brother of the late Catherine McLoughlin, an esteemed member of Dualla Community and a South Tipperary County Councillor who died in 2010. Michael, who had been terminally ill for some time died at the age of 68 years.

In his younger days growing up in Dualla, he hurled with Boherlahan in the 1960s. He was very mechanically minded with a great interest in machinery and tractors. Throughout his life, he was involved with a machinery hiring service. He was a great supporter of Dualla Ploughing Association. On Tuesday, 22nd November, his remains were reposing at Walsh’s Funeral Home, Carrick-on-Suir and on the following day were removed to the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Dualla, where his Funeral Mass was celebrated by Fr. Joe Egan PP.

A number of tractors from the Sliabh na mBan Vintage Club accompanied the cortege to the Church. Interment took place in the adjoining cemetery.

Sympathy is extended to his wife Mary, his brother-in-law Bob McLoughlin, his nephews Mark, Garret and Mark McLoughlin, his nieces Louise McLoughlin Maher, Yvonne and Hilary McLoughlin, relatives and friends. Peace to his soul.
