Fahy's of Cashel to represent Tipperary at this year's Kinsale Chowder Festival
The 8th annual All-Ireland Chowder Cook Off will take place in Actons Hotel Kinsale on 22nd April with Fahy's Bar and Restaurant from Cashel representing Tipperary.
Seafood chowder is now one of the most popular items on the menu of most Irish pubs and restaurants, and every year Kinsale holds a competition to find the “All-Ireland Chowder Champion”.
This year's event will take place at Acton's Hotel on Sunday 22nd April from 2 to 4pm. The All-Ireland Chowder Cook-Off, sponsored by Clona will feature professional chefs from over 25 restaurants from all over Ireland, the winner’s prize to the value of over €1,000.
Members of the public will be the judges at the All-Ireland Chowder Cook-Off. For €15 the public will be given a card entitling them to a sample of each of the chowders, and will then vote for the winner.
Tipperary man Pat Shortt will be performing over the weekend along with a “Taste of the wild Atlantic way” street food festival on the Saturday between 1-4 pm which everything is for €5 and under.
The All-Ireland Chowder Champion 2018 will be presented with the new Derek Davis Perpetual Trophy. Who will be the 2018 champions?
