The annual Holycross Ballycahill Sale of Work was a great success this afternoon in the local Community Centre with hundreds coming to help raise funds for the primary schools in the villages of Holycross and Ballycahill, and the two parish community centres.
Forty eight trailers of timber were auctioned on the day and there was loads of entertainment for the kids with raffles, draws, lucky-dips, books and toy sales, bric-a-brack and lots more. The event has been ongoing for many years and is organised by the local Parents Councils along with community members who go out of their way to ensure that everyone has a great afternoon out.

The much needed funds will go towards running the schools and the community centres which are the very focal points in both villages. Rev Fr Celsus Tierney CC was on hand to close the event and to thank everyone who came and helped out in any way with what is now an age-old tradition in the parish.
