The councillors said that they were disgusted and sickened by the decision North Tipperary and Nenagh was being abandoned by the State agency, they said.
There was a call for the council to meet Failte Ireland face to face to try and have the decision overturned and that the council should meet TD's and the Minister for Tourism on this issue.
Failte Ireland have said that a decision not to open the Nenagh office this year was due to budgetary constraints.
A number of the councillors said that failte Ireland had no strategy for the midland region and they were fed up hearing about the Wild Atlantic Way all the time.
