Lotto players in Tipperary were celebrating for the second time in two days after one lucky person woke up this morning €500,000 richer after scooping half-a-million on last night’s EuroMillions Plus draw.
This follows yesterday's lotto luck when a Tipperary woman who won the top prize of €50,000 on a €5 BingoTimes 10 scratch card laid claim to her windfall at the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin.
The winning scratch card was sold at Sheedy’s Centra Store in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
In last night's EuroMillions draw a Quick Pick, sold in the XL Prior Park Service Station in the Ormand Centre, Clonmel scooped a whopping €500,000.
The thrilled owner of the XL service station, Brian Connolly said: “I couldn’t believe hearing that another Clonmel player has won and of course I’m delighted that we sold the ticket. This is the second EuroMillions Plus €500,000 win in two weeks in Clonmel so we are becoming a really lucky Lottery town. We’ve been spreading the word to our locals since early doors this morning and myself and all the staff at XL wish the winner the very best of luck, whoever she or he is!”
The National Lottery is now encouraging all its players in Dublin and Tipperary to check their tickets. A spokesperson said: “Ireland really is getting its rub of the green with EuroMillions Plus with two more top prize winners of €500,000. Long may this lucky roll continue as we now have our 12th and 13th winners of 2018. If you are one of those two lucky ticketholders, be sure to sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 01 836 4444 and we will make arrangements for you to come to the National Lottery Winner’s Room to get your prize”.
