The first round of Lady Captain Mrs Nora Kennedy’s Prize took place on Tuesday last 7th August with 48 ladies taking part in lovely warm weather some great scores were brought in, leaders after the 1st 18 holes were Patricia Rowland with a fantastic score of 66 nett, 2nd Margaret MacMahon 67 nett and 3rd Marie Kennedy with 68 nett.
The 2nd round took place on Sunday last 12th August, with the 1st 3 ball teeing off at 11am, a great atmosphere repelled around the clubhouse in anticipation of who would take the Lady Captain’s fantastic prize. Unfortunately rain stopped play for about an hour and when play resumed most of the players finished in good weather.
At the presentation, The President Mr Liam Shanahan welcomed everyone and congratulated Lady Captain Nora on her fabulous prize and for getting through the 2 days without too many hitches.
Liam said he was enjoying his reign as President so far and thanked Nora for all her help on management committee. In her presentation speech, The Lady Captain, thanked everyone for their good wishes, presents and flowers, her family and her very good friends from the UK, her Committee for all their hard work and her helpers Caroline and Carmel and all the ladies who took part over the 2 days and congratulated all the prize winners.
