When Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines in November 2013, its impact was felt in the hearts of the people of Coolderry.
Coolderry’s native son Fr. Fr. Christy Kennedy SDB, has ministered there as a Salesian Missionary Priest of St. John Bosco since September 1968.
The link between his mission and the parish of his birth is kept alive during his triennial visits home when he loves to spend time with family and friends and refresh his spirit at the fountain of his youth. The Parish Community of Coolderry is reaching out to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan and Fr. Christy’s Salesian mission in the Philippines by way of a benefit concert organised by a committee of friends, parishioners and family.
The concert will be held on Sunday, February 9th in Shinrone Hall at 8pm. Admissionis J10 for adults and J5 for children and OAPs.Tickets may be obtained from Mary on 087 7461134 or 087 2487867. They have been working to help vulnerable children in the Philippines since 1950. Fr.
