Parish Sale & Dog Show
Dunkerrin Parish Sale and Dog Show takes place in the Church grounds on Sunday, 15th July at 2.30 p.m. The usual stalls of cakes, farm produce, books, bric-a-brac, plants and lots more. Admission will be 4 euro which includes tea and free raffle ticket. Owners of dogs have free admission. Donations towards the stalls would be greatly appreciated.
Devilsbit Macra na Feirme
We have been very busy over the last week. On Wednesday night members donated blood to the Irish Blood Transfusion Service at The Dome, Semple Stadium, Thurles. Great to see an old Macra tradition being kept up. The results of our best new member competition was released on Thursday and with 16 new members, competition was fierce. Unfortunately only one member could go forward to represent the club and Sarah Guilfoyle of Camblin was announced as the winner. Well done to all who took part in the competition. Sun Shines For
Hospice Fancroft Fundraiser
The Hospice Sunflower emblem was indeed a fitting symbol for the fundraising event held at Fancroft Mill & Gardens, Roscrea on Sunday June 10th as after days of torrential rain the clods cleared away. The glorious warm summer day allowed visitors to wander in the extensive gardens or take refreshments outside the tea rooms. 60 visitors availed of the guided Mill tours. In excess of 1300 was raised for this important local cause.
Happy to former Roscrea native Mrs Janie Huntingdonshire nee Nixon who celebrated her 100th birthday recently in Ashton lodge Sudbury, Surrey. Janie received presentations from the Irish President, Queen Elizabeth II and Ian Duncan Smith MEP.
A coffee morning will be held during the Country Market in Roscrea on Friday 27th July and Friday 3rd August in aid of headstrong which is the national centre for youth mental health. All are welcome.

Wednesday Night Walkers
For those of you interested in getting fit this summer or just thinking about taking a leisurely walk in the country, the Wednesday night walks are back for the summer. The walks will vary between one hour to two and a half hours. The walks will be a combination of in and off the road. If you would like to join please call or text 0863399193. Young and old are most welcome. Congratulations to Declan collision who completed a 31k 10 hour walk over the Galtee’s recently. Also completing the challenge were Gemma Collins, J.J Bergin and Cathal McNicholas. Well done to all involved
This week’s walk being a gentle stroll around golden grove wood, leaving Dromakeenan national school car park off the birr road at 6.30 pm. Next weeks Wednesday night walk is over to the Devils Bit Mountain which will be a little more strenuous, leaving from the Fountain Rosemary Square at 6.30 pm.
A meeting of the Parish Pastoral council will take place on Thursday next the 3rd of July at 8pm in the Legion Hall.

Wood Carving Classes

On Thursday 5th July, the club will host a “Wilson Demo” night in conjunction with Sportsman’s Dream Nenagh. This will give you the chance to try different rackets, while playing fun tennis.
