Parish Involvement - The Parish Renewal Group has been exploring ways of creating a stronger parish community, facilitating greater involvement by all, enabling people to use their gifts by responding to the various needs, and affirming all who are already involved in many aspects of parish life. To advance these objectives, we are trying to set up a Leadership Group in each Church area. This group could focus on the church activities, needs and services in their area.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade - Arrangements are now in place for the parade which will take place in Littleton on Thursday, 17th March at 11 a.m. sharp. Floats and motorised vehicles will approach via Ballybeg (Castle) Road while marching groups and schools will assemble outside St. Mary’s Church of Ireland at 10.30 a.m. Our thanks to Darmody’s bar who have donated 150 euro for the best business entry. Prizes also for the best marching, parish, visitors, juveniles, comedy, culture, Irish language, shop window, individual and environment entries. Children’s and juvenile prizes will be distributed in the schools. A church gate collection will be taken up to cover running costs. We know that many children are looking forward to the event and the presence of our local schools has always added to the excitement, joy and happiness of the parade. In times of great change it is hoped that the dedication of so many voluntary workers in our clubs and organisations will be a source of inspiration and a willingness to work together for a better future. Every entry, however small will be welcomed and appreciated.
