Dacia Duster commercial - it’s the business

The Dacia Duster Commercial is making a big splash in the market.

The Dacia Duster Commercial is making a big splash in the market.

Readers of The Tipperary Star motors pages will be well versed in our views on the Dacia range of vehicles - those low cost, highly economical and reliable machines from Romania.

Well, Dacia have now broken into the commerical market to go along with their Duster, Logan and Stepaway models in the passanger segment and are certain to shake up a sector traditionally dominated by the big players.

With Cleary Motors in Thurles acting as agents for Dacia, the brand is quite visible in and around the locality. But, no matter how many agents you have, the vehicles will not sell if they are not offering something to the customer. They are, and as a result they are selling in droves.

There has already been over 900 Dusters put on our roads so far this year and it’s all down to the shockingly affordable pricing, chunky unpretentious styling, impressive and versatile interior space, and peerless build quality, have all contributed to the Duster’s success.

At the end of May, Duster was the bestselling car in its class and is preforming ahead of well-established and more premium brands, showing that Irish consumers still know a smart buy when they see one.

It is still keeping its segment competitors on their toes with its super-mini or in some cases city-car pricing. Quite simply no other car in the country can offer the same price, size and equipment for the money

The Commercial version will sit in the competitive Car Derived Van (CDV)/SUV/PickUp segment, which represents almost 27% of the LCV Market.

It is based on the same design and engine size as the original Duster and is locally converted with its rear seats removed and rear windows blacked out to hide cargo.

The Duster Commercial is an ideal vehicle for small business drivers or larger businesses with a mixed fleet. The Duster, as with all Dacia vehicles, offers a more competitive price, without all the non-essential extras, as well as a bigger luggage volume in excess of 1650 litres. Pay load is around 550kg depending on variant.

From just €13,361 ex VAT and delivery charges the Duster Commercial comes in two guises, like the original model. The Alternative 4x2 and The Signature 4x2 and 4x4, with one punchy 1.5 dCi 110Bhp and it comes with a standard 3 year, 100,000KM warranty, extendable to five years unlimited mileage warranty.

The Tipperary Star reviewed the Duster commercial and just as with the passanger model, we were very impressed. The 4X2 Alternative comes with a pricetag of €15,990 while the Signiture starts at €17,990 for the 4X2 and rises to €19,990 for the 44. Thing is, most commercial drivers would not require a 4X4, but if off-roading is your thing, this machine is more than capable

Our advice? If you are in the market for a commerical or thinking about up-grading the fleet, give Cleary Motors, Loughtagalla, Thurles a call.
