Roscrea Rugby

Next Sunday Roscrea play host to North Kildare in Streamstown. Both first and seconds will be in action. Seconds at 12.30 pm and firsts at 2pm. Make a note of the early kick off times which are official for the month of December. The first team had a comfortable win over Clane last Sunday; 33 points to 7, but against weak opposition were not impressive and will need a big improvement if they are to win against a strong North Kildare team.

The seconds won well last Sunday and will be hoping to get a second win over the North Kildare side. The seconds are doing remarkable well this year under the captaincy of Niall Carey so come out early and support them but please remember it’s a 12.30pm kick off. The Annual Timber Auction takes place in the Club Grounds in Streamstown on December 14th at 11am. Free local delivery.

Roscrea United F.C would like to congratulate and send it’s best wishes to the club’s recently elected Chairman, Con “Beanie” O’ Lone who follows in the steps of Colm Nolan, the club’s inaugural Chairman who stepped aside recently due to time constraints. Con has a long history of involvement in community projects in the Kennedy Park area and the club are delighted that he was in the position to accept the recent nomination as the club continues to go from strength to strength with big plans for the future.
