Readers are being asked to take part in a charity cycle to raise much needed funds for St. Anne’s Special NeedSchool new playground.
We want to raise funds to install stationary bicycles in their playground.
There are lots of cycles suitable for all levels. Please note the family cycle on the 27th is postponed because Tipperary are playing Kilkenny.
There are three routes available to choose from. A 30km option, a 50km option and a 95km option. The 30km is from st.Anne’s to Coolderry to Brosna and back by the monastery to St.Anne’s.
The 50km is St. Anne’s to Kinnitty and back by Clareen Coolderry , Brosna, the monastery.
Finally the 95km option is the same as above but at Kinnity there is an extra loop over to Clonaslee, over the Cut and the Wolftrapp and back to Kinnitty. The 30km is relatively flat and suits beginners.
The 50km is suitable to someone who is relatively fit, and used to hills and the 95km is for experienced cyclists who have road bikes and are used to longer climbs. Registration starts at 9am and we roll out of St. Anne’s car park at 9:30am.
The parent’s association and local sponsors, Stapletons Bread, Carroll Meats and Bernie’s Supervalu Roscrea are providing sandwiches and refreshments at Kinnitty and Coolderry. Please note helmets are compulsory.
The route is marked out. There will be a leisure group who will lead the 30km cycle and also we will have two paced groups doing the longer routes.
Suggested Registration Costs; 30km cycle 15euro, 50km and 95km cycles 20 euro. We will not turn away any cyclist who has even made a small fundraising effort. Please give generously to St. Anne’s they do a lot of good for people who have special needs in the Tipperary, Offaly, Laois and Kilkenny areas. Contact us a www.stannesroscrea.com.
