Award described as being very significant for Tipperary

The Tipperary Fire Service has been congratulated by the Chairman of the County Council, Councillor Michael Fitzgerald on winning the Best Management System in the Public Service Award recently.

Cllr Fitzgerald, speaking at the monthly meeting of the council in Clonmel this week, said that this was a fantastic award for the fire service to win and he paid tribute to the Chief Fire Officer Dave Carroll and all the members on the ground for their excellence in the field.

“This is a very significant award and I want to congratulate everyone associated in achieving it. I was very proud to be at the event and it was great to see Tipperary winning,” Cllr Fitzgerald said.

Chief Fire Officer Dave Carroll said that the service attends approximately 1500 incidents per year and he expressed delighted that the service had been chosen for award which he described as being ‘very significant’.

“We have a very good health and safety record and long may that continue within our service. This is a great tribute to the staff members on the ground and I congratulate each and every one of them for achieving this,” Dave Carroll said.
