AN elderly man who was well known around Templemore, died in a car crash near Roscrea this week.
Michael Ryan, aged in his 80’s, died in a single vehicle collision on the N7 at Pintown, Roscrea, on Monday evening at around 4.45pm.
Gardai at Roscrea Garda Station are investigating the crash. Mr Ryan was the the sole occupant of the car. He was pronounced dead at Portlaoise General Hospital.
Templemore Town Councillor Marcus Wilson described Mr Ryan as a well liked and popular man who always had a smile and a good word for others. Mr Ryan lived in The Mills apartment block above Templemore Library, but was originally from Coolderry. It’s understood Mr Ryan lived on his own. At the time of going to press, Mr Ryan’s funeral arrangements had not been released.
