TEMPLEMORE is in shock this week following the horrific shooting of a local man who managed a restaurant in America.
Tributes have been paid to Tom Walsh (43), who was shot and killed in DeLand, Florida, on Saturday night, in a suspected robbery. Mr Walsh managed the Mainstreet Grille, owned by Phil and Chantelle Martin.
Local police say Mr Walsh was alone in the restaurant when he was shot. His body was discovered in the restaurant at around 11pm on Saturday, about an hour after closing. Mr Walsh had worked in the restaurant since it opened in 1996.
It’s understood the Mr Walsh’s family are making arrangements for his body to be flown back to Templemore. Funeral services are also to be held on Thursday at 10am, in Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in DeLand, Florida, for Mr Walsh.
