National Ploughing Championships has plenty on offer to suit all tastes

The National Ploughing Championships start this coming week

The National Ploughing Championships 2018 take place from next Tuesday, September 18, to Thursday, September 20, in Screggan, Tullamore County Offaly.

FRS has live demonstrations planned, along with the traditional cup of tea, for all our visitors this year and hope you get to come along to see us at stand 221 on Row 10.

We have live hoof care, chainsaw and fencing demonstrations taking place throughout the days that will be clearly seen live on our big screen.

We will be giving you all the hits and tips to help you be more efficient with your hoof care regime and fencing and safer when using the chainsaw.

There will also be a Tinsley wire prize up for grabs.

FRS Farm Relief Services are running a recruitment drive, with training and job opportunities for farm workers, milkers and hoof care technicians.

You can talk to FRS staff about the roles and apply for the many nationwide positions. There are full-time and part-time opportunities offering flexibility, competitive rates, training, experience and career progression. Experienced milkers and hoof care technicians are invited to apply, but training is available for candidates who show the right attitude and enthusiasm to upskill. We will also be chatting about our work exchange programme with New Zealand, which we set up to bring required skilled workers to Irish farms during the spring season and likewise offer Irish workers the chance to go live, learn and earn on New Zealand farms during their peak season. Get a demo from the Herdwatch team and see how it can help with your farm management and compliance.

You can sign up for the free version of the app or join the 8,000 members to save time and money and lessen the burden of compliance paperwork.

Herdwatch will be on the FRS stand and at the Innovation Arena, where it is a nominated innovation finalist. Visit: www.herdwatch.ie
