Gardai are warning farm owners to keep animal feed locked securely following a number of thefts in recent weeks

Gardai are appealing for witnesses in relation to a double burglary in the Moyne area last week.

A burglary occurred on Wednesday, May 9 in the Long Orchard, Moyne between 12pm and 2pm. A Black car, believed to be a Volvo S40, was observed in the area acting suspiciously. Gardai are anxious to talk to any person who saw this car in the area around that time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardai at Templemore on 0504 – 32630.

A second burglary occurred on the same date near Athnid, Moyne between 12 noon and 1.30pm. Again Gardai are seeking the public’s assistance in this matter. Any information to Gardai in Templemore at 0504 32630 or Thurles at 0504- 25100.

A number of thefts have occurred in rural areas over the last week. Animal feed and scrap metals have been taken. Gardai recommend that valuable materials should, if at all possible, be kept securely.
