EU Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan
Tipperary farmers are being reminded that the Making CAP 2020 Work for You IFA event is on this Friday, April 20, in Kilkenny.
“CAP is worth €114m to Tipperary farmers and this is our chance to hear directly from EU Commissioner for Agriculture Phil Hogan on one of the most critical issues for the future of Irish agriculture,” North Tipperary IFA chair Imelda Walsh said.
The main event will involve a debate between Commissioner Hogan and IFA president Joe Healy on CAP 2020, including a full question and answers session with audience participation.
There will also be a session involving key IFA chairs and industry representatives on the importance of CAP to Irish farming and agri-business, and Prof Thia Hennessy, Head of UCC Business School will set the scene on CAP.
The event takes place in the O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Clubhouse in Kilkenny, starting at 7pm.
This is a free public event, as this is such an important event for farm families.
