Tony Ryan Funds awards €120,000 to organisations in Co. Tipperary

Named after the late Thurles entrepreneur and businessman, The ‘Tony Ryan Fund for Tipperary’ was established in 2013 by the Tony Ryan Trust to give support to initiatives across Co. Tipperary

Almost 12,000 people in County Tipperary are projected to benefit from the latest round of small grants awarded from The Tony Ryan Fund for Tipperary at The Community Foundation for Ireland.

€120,000 was awarded to 31 not-for-profit organisations this week. The focus of the funding this year was “Loving our Land” and applications were encouraged for local community garden and other growing, environment and biodiversity projects.

The Tony Ryan Fund for Tipperary was established in 2013, by the Tony Ryan Trust, to give financial support to evidence-based initiatives that support children and young people in the county to reach their full potential. The core focus of the funding was to improve the life experience of children and young people living in County Tipperary.  Funding of €1.9 million was committed and disbursed over a five-year timeframe. So far the fund has awarded €1.8 million to projects in Tipperary.
