CRC Gaels held a very successful presentation night on Saturday the 24th of February in Dooly’s Hotel.

The night was attended by both the under 14 and Minor County Championship winning teams. There were a number of special guests on the night, which included; Cyril Farrell - Sunday Game analyst, Conor Cooney – Current Galway All Ireland Winner and Allstar and County Board Vice Chairman Padraic Pearse.

MC for the night was Brendan Hanamy, who thrilled the audience by displaying an amazing repertoire of statistics, by citing past hurling achievements of the special guests. Martin Errity, always a crowd favourite, recalled the Feile and Championship journey of the Under 14 team and what that victory meant for the community. Declan Fitzgerald recalled the Minor County Championship experience on retaining the Minor B County Championship whilst Padraic Pearse encouraged players to “stick with it” no matter what position they held, as the friendships you make through hurling and GAA are lifelong friendships. Martin Cashen, Hurling Officer and CRC Chairman Pat Kelly also provided encouraging speeches. Conor Cooney and Cyril Farrell delivered inspirational speeches, with Cyril encouraging players to not be afraid to discuss how they felt, share their problems with their friends or family and to live life to the full. Both Conor Cooney and Cyril Farrell presented the Under 14 panel with their Feile and Under 14 A Championship medals. They also presented the Minor Championship team with their County B Championship medals. Laura McDowall also presented a marvellous trip down memory lane with footage which captured the 2017 journey of both teams. The night ended with a fabulous meal, served by Dooly’s Hotel.
