Cashel Student Wins at LIT Engineering Week

One Cashel student is 'flying it' after attending the annual LIT Engineering Week in Limerick Institute of Technology. Padraig Quirke from Cashel Community School was the lucky winner of a drone worth €160.

The week long engineering initiative was attended by 600 students from secondary schools across Limerick, Clare, Kerry, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny and Tipperary and focused on the manufacturing processes involved in drone technology.

With LIT holding a daily draw to give away a drone each day to attendees, Padriag was one of five lucky winners.

LIT lecturer and event coordinator Peader Henehan noted “The aim of LIT Engineering Week is to promote engineering to Leaving Cert students while giving them a taste of the various forms of engineering available in third level and in the industry”.
