Cashel Community School (CCS) students and staff celebrated Wellness Week recently, enjoying a wide range of planned activities.
Transition Year students travelled to Limerick and participated in some trampoline fun. This was to celebrate their resilience themed day and remind students of the importance of bouncing back from challenges in their lives.
First Years got active with Zumba lessons in the sports hall, while exam students were reminded of the jigsaw of perspective and the importance of reminding ourselves of the good things in life.
The student council made colourful posters of the new Junior Cert Wellbeing Indicators and positive affirmations were posted throughout the school.
School assemblies reminded students of their supports systems in the school and the importance of helping each other. Music students participated in a music workshop with their grandparents where connecting through music was the theme , a very enjoyable and memorable day was celebrated.
Advanced Medical Services visited the school during the week, it is an Irish based company which provides Mobile Cardiac Screening to help reduce the incidents of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). The service is Doctor led & based on the recommendations of the European Society of Cardiology & Olympic Council Committee. Lots of students availed of this screening .
Gratitude day was also marked in the school where staff and students expressed thanks for the little things in life, students very kindly made soup ( a hug in a mug) for staff which was warmly received . The staffroom got a splash of colour on the last day of the week where staff sported their most colourful socks to celebrate diversity and colour in life . Prizes were kindly sponsored by Baileys restaurant and O'Dwyer's pharmacy.
