The lights display at McCarthys Kennedy Park, Thurles

Cameo Care will benefit from any donations given in memory of Michael McCarthy

For many years, the late Michéal McCarthy, 55 Kennedy Park, Thurles brought a bit of Festive spirit to the area with his magnificent lighting displays which earned many admirers from far and wide.
And, following his untimely passing a few weeks ago, his family have decided that the light he brought to peoples lives should continue, in his memory.
Michéal, husband to Mary, would be thrilled to know that their sons Johnny and Michael McCarthy are to continue with the fabulous festive scene and the lights will be switched on by Santa Claus on Friday evening next, December 8th.
Incidentally, Santa will be arriving in a fire engine and there will be some nice treats for any kids who are present at the time.
Michéal spent many weeks before Christmas preparing for the lighting extravaganza and afterwards he would go to the ends of the earth sourching extra lights, to make the following year that little bit better.
Michéal had passed away within 12 weeks of being diagnosed with alzheimers and his family will have a donation box outside their home for anyone who may wish to donate to the brilliant charity Cameo Care, in his memory, when they visit the scene. Cameo Care provide tremendous support for alzheimers sufferers and their families and the McCarthy's wish to acknowledge their magnificent work. All are welcome to come along to the turning on of the lights on Friday.
