Fr John Littleton, President of the National Conference of Priests of Ireland writes a weekly column for the Tipperary Star on Religious matters.
This week he writes about the views of the Catholic Church on Sex Outside Of Marriage.
Our bodies are not meant for fornication
Fornication, which means engaging in sexual intercourse outside of marriage, is not a frequently used word in our vocabulary nowadays.
Many people judge the concept of fornication to be outdated by arguing that we live in a sexually liberated world where people are entitled to express their sexuality whenever and however they wish to do so.
However, contrary to what it may suggest, such sexual liberation does not bring about real freedom or true happiness, and it offends God.
