Tipperary’s own Geraldine Henchion has been selected as a finalist at the upcoming Easy Food Home-Cook Hero Awards, which take place on Friday, November 2nd in Dublin. Geraldine, from Thurles, has been shortlisted for the annual awards ceremony which celebrates unsung kitchen heroes all over Ireland.
Geraldine is shortlisted in the Fabulous Fowl category for her delicious ‘Fat Free Barbeque Chicken’. Commenting on her recipe Geraldine says “I have fought the battle of the bulge all my life, however, I have recently lost 24 pounds and still going, by simply changing my eating habits and using fat free products and good proteins. My family loves this recipe and don’t even know its fat free!”
She will now have to prepare the recipe in front of the esteemed judges at Cook’s Academy in Dublin on Friday, November 2nd and will then attend the black-tie gala evening awards ceremony in the Shelbourne Hotel that night where ten overall winners will be selected. The ten category winners will each receive 1,500 worth of prizes, plus the opportunity to be showcased in the Easy Food Home-Cook Hero Awards Cookbook.
Judging this year’s competition are renowned celebrity chefs Kevin Dundon, Catherine Fulvio and Catherine Leydon, as well as Vanessa Greenwood of Cooks Academy and Gina Miltiadou, Publisher of Easy Food Magazine and Co-Founder of Zahra Media Group.
