Dovea's Dudleys lift Cork County beef bull title

Trevor and Edward Dudley from Kilsunny House, Dovea, Thurles, completed a 260-mile round trip from the village of Dovea to Carbery Show just outside the town of Skibbereen in West Cork to compete in the Cork County Inter-Breed Senior Beef Bull of the Year finals

One of the top competitions on the entire show cattle calendar, it boasted a massive entry of top quality bulls across all major beef breeds on the day.

The Dudley duo emerged victorious in the Hereford section, taking the Overall Supreme Breed championship with their six-year-old senior stock bull, Glaslough Judge. Judge was purchased privately in 2011 to serve as the senior stock sire at the 15 -cow Kilsunny Hereford herd.

Shown for the first time this year, Judge has notched up an unbeaten run of five consecutive first prize wins and championships

Not stopping there, the bull also claimed the Reserve Inter-Breed Senior Bull of the Year title – making it a very successful first outing to West Cork for the Dudley family.
