Dinny Byrne is predeceased by his wife Sheila Byrne. Dinny left us suddenly on the 15th of November at St. James Hospital, Dublin.
Dinny was born in 1947, into a family of nine. He was the eldest of the boys: Brothers Lua, Francis, Peter, and Paddy, and Sisters Geraldine, Patricia, and Aggie, and was also predeceased by his sister Mary. His parents Elizabeth and Francis Byrne had lived at their home in Kilmartin, Knock, Roscrea.
Dinny is Mourned by his five children, Daughters Patricia, Joanne, Denise, and Sons Donnacha, and James, his brother in-law Michael Duggan, sister in-law Maisie Delaney, daughter in law Sinead, and grandchild Aoife. Dinny was a true gentleman to everyone who knew him and a really witty man with his one liners. Dinny was highly gifted and could turn his hands to anything. Dinny was also into the farming side of life and loved deal making. Dinny could make a sale and gain a friend! Dinny started his working life on the family farm in Kilmartin as a young lad driving tractors drawing turf for people from the bogs and cutting corn with a binder and and working the combine. He also worked for CIE for several years, and for a time with Joe Dooley Builders in and around the Roscrea area.
But machinery and tractors and hay balers were the things most central to his interests in life. Dinny went to work for Delaneys Machinery in Ballaghmore for a good number of years. Dinny saw adventure, and started his own career in Scart, Roscrea in the machinery business. Dinny was a true man of his word and an absolute legend. Dinny is sadly missed by all his family and friends. We would like to thank family and friends for their support, and all those who called to the house and sent Mass Cards. We Thank You.
Dinny’s legacy will never be forgotten.
May He Rest in Peace, Amen.
