South Tipperary Tourism Company (STTC) will host a ‘Tipperary Tourism Workshop’ on 16th April, 10-1.30pm at the Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort located on the N24 near Tipperary town.
This workshop is a follow-up to last years’ event in the Minella Hotel, Clonmel, where Ruth Andrews of the Inbound Tour Operators Association (ITOA) and David McNulty of Tourism Development International (TDI) made a number of important suggestions on what should be done to encourage
tour operators to include Tipperary in their tour itineraries. In particular, the importance of creating tourism packages or ‘bundling’ of products was stressed, as was the significance of a strong digital presence for providers, including the use of social media. Tourism providers who attended the event expressed their desire to see a forum being established for the creation of tourism packages, and where those who might be not so social media-savvy could be shown the practical benefits of running a strong digital marketing strategy.
Taking these suggestions on board, STTC have arranged for this follow-up workshop to take place. The upcoming event comprises a number of elements, including a business showcase opportunity, a series of short talks from industry experts and practitioners, and a practical ‘packaging’ workshop. If you run a tourism or tourism related business in South Tipperary you are invited to book a business ‘showcase’ stand. If you are interested in creating tourism packages with related businesses, a platform for doing so will be facilitated at the workshop. Short talks on the successful use of social media will be presented, and a session at the event will be dedicated to ‘The Gathering’ and the significant tourism potential it is creating within the county. Time will be allowed for discussion and debate amongst tourism providers. There is no charge for booking a business stand at this workshop, and entry to the event is free. To register for a business stand (must be done in advance), or to register your attendance please email Joanne at email@example.com or call Paula at South Tipperary Development Company (052) 744 2652. We encourage all of our tourism providers to come along to the workshop and get involved, and we look forward to creating new and exciting tourism experiences for Tipperary on the day!
