Nenagh Arts Centre’s new programme for the upcoming spring 2015 season is now available and begins on Saturday, January 10th with classical music group Trio Elatha.
Formed in 2012 Trio Elatha, with founding members Ailbhe McDonagh and Brendan Walsh, bring together elements of Irish folk and classical music. The Trio Elatha’s concert programmes feature arrangements of traditional Irish tunes coupled with their own compositions.
In September 2013 violinist Lynda O’Connor joined the group and they have collaborated with such artists as Michael Collins, Nobuko Imai, Chee Yun Kim, Michael O’Suilleabhain, Michael Buble and DeDannan.
Recently the group has taken a break to compose some of their own new material, but have a busy schedule planned for the 2015 season and their visit to Nenagh is part of an introduction to their soon to be released new album.
The Trio Elatha concert takes place on Saturday, January 10th at 8pm. Admission is priced at €15 with a €12 concession rate.
Also as part of the spring programme in the Nenagh Arts Centre will feature the new Fishamble play ‘Underneath’.
The Nenagh Arts Centre will stage ‘Underneath’ in March while local actress Áine Ryan (Upperchurch) will performs her well-regarded show ‘Kitty In the Lane’.
The Nenagh Arts Centree will also feature a production from the Nenagh Players in February.
The Barnstorm Theatre visits Nenagh in February with their children’s play ‘Monday’s Child’ and there will be a screening of some movies as part of a broader children’s programme.
Cinema in the Town Hall returns with Irish director Donal Foreman’s ‘Out Of Here’ on January 22nd and includes films from Germany, France and America.
In music The Fureys will play their rescheduled concert on March 28th; The Nualas bring their comedic musical touch earlier that month and there is classical guitar with John O’Shea in February.
