The cross country season got off to a smashing start last Sunday 7th October. Weather conditions were perfect for the first day of the Juvenile Even Age Championships which was held in Two Mile Borris. Moycarkey Coolcroo AC had the course laid out very well on the land of the Hayes family who yet again kindly allowed the event to be held there.
Clubs from all over the county descended on the location from early morning, eager to get started into the races which included u/10, u/12, u/14, u/16 and u/18 races for boys and girls. Competition was fierce as each young runner gave their all for themselves and their clubs. At the same time juveniles mix, mingle and congratulate eachother no matter what colour singlet they are wearing which is a very endearing quality of the sport.
