Loop de Loop
With a 4th successive Aherlow trail marathon under his belt Tom Blackburn takes the illusive crown of the loop de loop.
The MMRA loop de loop was held last Saturday in the Glen of Aherlow. The loop de loop was made up of three races an ultra marathon, a marathon and a half marathon. The club itself had a fleet of runners spread out over the three races. Robert Cunningham hit the ultra a gruelling 58km trail run. Tom Blackburn, Damien Holian, Denis Ryan, Kevin Lenihan, Paddy O'Shea, John Hayes and Liam O'Donnell all took to the 42km marathon. With new recruit Israel Perez Cifuentes, Gerard Hanley, Sarah Fitzpatrick, Martina Moloney, Mary Pyke, Paddy Bourke and Patricia Ryan all running 21km in the half marathon. The backround team was made up of club members Barry Hartnett ultra RD, Patricia Blackburn marathon RD and Marie O'Shea half marathon RD with back up from Louise Rennie, Juliette Holian, Jane and Ger Griffin, Aoife Courtney, Michelle Carey, Lynda Hynes, Willie O'Donoghue, Mairead Hynes, Stuart Moloney, Ewan and Johnny Cunningham and Eoin Pyke all covering registration, kitchen, first aid, aid stations, runner safety/road crossing and car parking.
First success for the club came when Tom Blackburn crossed the finish line 1st to take the marathon title. In the half marathon success came for Sarah Fitzpatrick when she crossed the line as 3rd lady. Robert Cunningham finished 8th in the ultra marathon as did Damien Holian in the marathon.

Grange/Fermoy 4 Mile
The final race of the Avondhu 3x3 took place last Friday night in Fermoy Co. Cork. Neighbouring club grange/fermoy were the host. Race 1 was the Conna 5k 2nd was the Mitchelstown GR8 8k and finally the grange/fermoy 4 mile. Two club members donned the vest for the final race Kieran Lees and Willie O'Donoghue. On a night that can only be described as a perfect night for running Kieran and Willie powered around the 4 mile loop. With less than 22 minutes on the clock Kieran Lees crossed the finish line in 3rd place followed shortly by Willie O'Donoghue who took 1st in his category.

Kilkenny City Medieval Half Marathon 
On Saturday club veteran Padraigin Riggs went into battle in the medieval city of Kilkenny for Ireland's 3rd medieval half marathon. Taking in many of the most historic sites in the city before heading out the country roads before meandering back to the parade in the heart of city for the grand final. Training Adults
Adults train on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm in the community field in Galbally. New members always welcome. Adults also do hill/mountain and trail training, become a registered member and get the added benefit of being included if the club's whatsapp to keep up to date with training/races and events.

Training Juveniles 
Juvenile training has resumed after the summer break. Training in the community field in Galbally Monday nights at 7pm and Thursday nights at 6pm. For insurance reasons all juveniles must be registered with the club. Registration forms are available at training each night. Cost of Registration is €15 per juvenile. (Family rates available). Couch to 5k
Get in shape keep fit. A new coach to 5k programme has begun. It is facilitated by Patricia Blackburn each Monday night at 7pm in the community field Galbally. €5 a session. Group/individual advice. Go on you know you want to.

Save The Date 
With 14 weeks left to Christmas here's a date for the diary. On Saturday 29th December the Mooreabbey Milers will host there annual mile dash. So add the date to your dairy weather your looking for a PB or a stroll with the family this is the place to be. More details to follow.
